December 18, 2009 | I'm updating this page early because I'm about to head out the door. Monday's page will be uploaded in the afternoon, because I will not be bringing my laptop with me this weekend and so will not be able to scan, clean up and typeset it in time for the usual time at midnight. I will probably do a bunch of pages while I am out of town and free of the siren call of The Internet, though, so Wednesday's update should still be safe. (:
December 16, 2009 | Comic will be on hiatus between December 23rd and January 6th while I wander around the country seeing family. I will be back though! I can promise this because I have practically enough pages sketched to last a month, and once I get enough time to finish them up the work should go fairly quickly.

November 2, 2009 | So normally I am not a huge fan of squirrels. Sure, they look kinda cute at a distance, but they also have this irritating habit of chittering loudly outside my window for hours at a time (and also I think one tried to pee on me once). Anyway, the creatures in Fuzznuts are decidedly more intelligent than your average garden-variety squirrel (not to mention more casually violent towards one another), but it's all in the name of entertainment. Entertainment!

October 26, 2009 | It is really rare to find a good science-fiction comic online-- in fact I find that really amazing science fiction is hard to come by in general, being as how one can't just explain away what would otherwise be a plot hole with 'a wizard did it'. That said, Galaxion is one example of an online comic that fills that breach by being really, really good! The characters are well-rounded and believable, and the plot is engaging... and also, there are spaceships!

And, linkage ahoy! Rune Master: Tales of a Demon Slayer is another fantasy comic about someone whe goes around killing demons... only this one's in full-colour, with a very interesting graphic style. It has a huge cast and quite the epic storyline, spanning a lot of different settings and story arcs, and somehow manages to keep up its momentum throughout.

For some more other-comic linkage: Nahast: Lands of Strife is a full-colour graphic novel with some really inspired character designs... one of my favourites is in the panel image shown to the left. It's got a really interesting atmosphere, sort of a mixture between high fantasy and Aztec mythos, and there is a lot of thought put into the world it's all set in. Go check it out! There's also a secondary page focusing on the story, here.

September 25, 2009 | Paaaage. Also, The Artiste Manquee is a highly entertaining comic, which sort of reminds me of my own current art school experience... in particular, of the things I was afraid of when I was first applying. And ever since I faced up to that fear and transferred to one last year, I've met people remarkably similar to the ones in the comic... (yes, some of whom really are that over-the-top). It is fun times though! And the comic has a cute art style which fits nicely with its tone and sense of humour, so go check it out!

It's funny how as soon as school starts up I get like a billion times more productive.... in everything EXCEPT for schoolwork. Whoops. Though considering I haven't received much schoolwork yet, perhaps it's for the best-- if I get lots done in these next couple of weeks I'll have time to lay off it and focus on the work. And on the exchange program I'm trying to get into.

August 24, 2009 | Annnd back on schedule! Yay! I sketched out another swathe of pages over the weekend, too, so hopefully production will be sped up for a little while.
August 21, 2009 | Sooooo I did get the page done in time... I just didn't scan it after completing the art. Which in retrospect was a mistake, because when I arrived home today I found that a flash storm (Tornadoes? In MY city?) had soaked the laptop which I had deviously left sitting in front of an open window before exiting the house.
Yup, I'm a genius.
It seemed unharmed at first, but for some reason it stalls after the first two loading screens-- whether or not this is related to the storm has yet to be seen, but either way I will deal with it later when I have the energy. If worst comes to worst, this page will be Monday's update, and I'll have a little bit more of a buffer (yaaay!).
